Institutional Biotech Hub

The Institutional Biotech Hub (IBt Hub) at Namrup College was established in 2013 as part of a prestigious initiative sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. This program is designed with the primary objective of disseminating advancements and innovations in biotechnology from industrial sources to user levels, bridging the gap between scientific discoveries and practical applications. By fostering knowledge transfer, the IBt Hub aims to empower students, researchers, and other beneficiaries with access to cutting-edge biotechnological tools and techniques.

Under this scheme, DBT has equipped the hub with state-of-the-art laboratory instruments to support both training and research activities. These facilities are available not only to the students and faculty of Namrup College but also to researchers and learners from neighboring institutions, ensuring a wider outreach and impact. The IBt Hub serves as a resource center for scientific exploration, skill development, and collaborative research in biotechnology.

Through its approved programs, the IBt Hub facilitates the transfer of technology from its source to beneficiaries in a structured and impactful manner. By organising workshops, training sessions, and research initiatives, it plays a vital role in promoting biotechnology education and innovation in the region.
