WELCOME TO NAMRUP COLLEGE LIBRARY

          The Namrup College Library is one of the important components of the institution. It has a quiet and calm surrounding ensuring a comfortable study ambiance. This double-storeyed building with an area of 2000sft. spread over two floors. The ground floor accommodates Repository, Registration, Journal Section, Newspapers, Current Periodicals, and the Students Reading Room. The student’s Reading Room is a spacious, well-lighted airy space. It can hold more than 50 students at a time. The students can read, refer, and make notes here without being disturbed.

       The First Floor accommodates Textbooks section, Circulation Books, SC/ST Book Bank Books, Back Volumes of the Periodicals, Reference Books, Reprography, and Teachers Reading Space. The digital section has 10 computers for all users to access e-resources. The Library is under CCTV surveillance. The digitization and Automation of the Library is under process.  

        The Library has a collection of about 12,000 volumes of books. It is subscribing to more than 14 number of journals and magazines in print. Apart from the prescribed textbooks, collection of subject-related references is also to be found here which primarily supports Undergraduate and Higher Secondary students. It is also a secondary source for the final year students who are to sit for entrance examinations to pursue higher studies and also for teachers who are undergoing M.Phil. and Ph. D.

         Namrup College is continually improving the Library collection and encouraging members to make recommendations for new books and journals and suggestions for a better ambiance. The Library Committee in consultation with all stakeholders gives constructive suggestions and extends all possible support to strengthen the existing facilities to create a dynamic academic environment for the better upliftment of the students.

        The college has a subscription to the institutional digital repository N-LIST e-resource software programme maintained by INFLIBNET. The library software is updated to SOUL 2.0. Every year new books and journals are incorporated to the library.  Librarian and two library bearers maintain the whole affairs of the library. Annual purchase of books, subscriptions of journals, periodicals are done as per recommendations from the departments. Preservation, distribution and consequently collections are done by library staff under the supervision of the college.
